Only Original MSDS

A principle of the Infosafe system is that the original supplier or manufacturer provides the MSDS.. ACOHS does not modify, review or alter an original MSDS.

An additional advantage of the Infosafe system is its ability to maintain both your finished product MSDS information as well as your Supplier product MSDS information in the same database. Being a true database the relevant information is then easily accessible in many formats and by various means.

Folders

The patented “virtual database” feature allows you to segregate and create folders of specific MSDS'. This simplifies multiple MSDS printing and report generation.

Edit

Creating

Infosafe provides the ability for your qualified staff to create MSDS' for your organisation consistent with regulatory standards. These can then be placed on your MSDS database for customer use and/or editing as required.

Storage

Inventories

Infosafe allows you to create a customised inventory of Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Substances for all your storage locations, whether they be on the one site or spread across the globe.

In addition to physical location, inventory detail can include container type, minimum/maximum and average quantities and other stored data.

As your inventory is integrated with your MSDS database any change to your MSDS will be automatically reflected in your inventory.

Manifests

Once your inventory detail is completed Infosafe can produce both Dangerous Good Manifests and Inventory manifests in compliance with OH&S regulations. These are particularly helpful for local emergency authorities.

Additionally, Infosafe allows you to search your Inventory listings by many different criteria (For example: Search by “Hazardous Substances” stored at a particular location).

Segregation

Some products should never be stored together. Once your inventory is created Infosafe can advise you of whether segregation of products is required, it will even direct you to the relevant regulations to assist you.

Wall Charts

Everyday MSDS information concerning the safe storage and handling of products can be provided in the form of Wall Charts for the workplace. Infosafe includes a Wall Chart report generator that utilises Inventory information to provide key MSDS information (e.g. required Personal Protective Equipment) for the location concerned. This can be printed and easily inserted into the ACOHS Wall Chart (poster size). If the inventory changes an updated Wall Chart report can be printed and simply replaces the previous.

Placarding

Correct Workplace Placarding is essential to safety but time consuming to calculate. Once your Inventory is set-up, Infosafe can calculate the appropriate placarding of Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Substances, for your individual storage locations or the whole site.

Workplace Risk Assessments

The Infosafe system includes a Workplace Risk Assessment module. This module enables you to record all details of your Workplace Risk Assessment and maintain your Assessments in the same system as your MSDS information.

The Assessment module is designed to comply with Workplace Assessment regulations. As Infosafe maintains your finished product and supplier MSDS information, Workplace Risk Assessments where Dangerous Goods or Hazardous substances are being stored or handled can be easily linked to the relevant MSDS. This helps ensure that the employee undertaking the task has easy access to the latest information.

Labels

Correct labelling of containers used within the workplace has always been an issue for employers and manufacturers. Infosafe simplifies this task through the Infosafe Label module (Labelworx).

With Labelworx, manufacturers or importers can generate compliant standard or customised product labels. Using standard fields and templates the required regulatory information is automatically gained from the MSDS when you create the label.

Labelworx also enables creation of customised labels and templates for decanted products used within the workplace. Employees must be able to easily identify substances used within the workplace.

To make labelling simpler and quicker, Labelworx incorporates a compliant range of both decanted and product label templates for you to choose from. Standard printer templates are used within Labelworx that allows for easy sourcing of required stationery and compatibility with different printers.

Being a database system any changes or updates to the MSDS can be automatically recorded on the next label print.

Monitor

Infosafe allows you to track which MSDS you have distributed and to whom. This information is particularly useful when you update an MSDS (Reissue, formulation change etc.) and need to ensure your customers have the latest information.

Chemindex

Chemindex is a CD containing approximately 46,000 MSDS references that is mailed to Infosafe users up to 3 times per year. With Chemindex, Infosafe Users select the MSDS/s they require from the reference listing provided and advise ACOHS. A transfer file of the required MSDS is then created and provided by ACOHS.
